One of Germany’s largest photovoltaic self-consumption projects
At the Valluhn logistics site in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, EDEKA North, in collaboration with PV² Energie, has built a 19-megawatt photovoltaic farm – designed to provide economically optimised self-sufficiency. For EDEKA North, generating its own energy is therefore more than just an environmental measure. It is a central component of its site strategy: the system hedges the company against fluctuating energy prices and reduces its dependence on external suppliers.
Key facts and figures about the solar farm
Location: Lüttow-Valluhn, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany
Output: 19,074.38 kWp
Type of system: ground-mounted, self-consumption
Commissioning: 01/2026
PV² Energie services: design and construction
Special features: integration into the company’s medium-voltage ring while the site remained operational
Project features and challenges
Christoph Graf, Technical Director at PV² Energie, describes the challenge as follows:
The key to success was the combination of early planning, a clear project structure, and close collaboration.

What our client says about this project
The long-term benefits – both financial and strategic – far exceed the investment. It is one of the safest bets we can make as a company for an economically and environmentally stable future.PV² Energie did more than just complete one task – it took on responsibility for the entire project.
